DotA Survivor - 13: Death Down Under

Reilden searched the cold, hard night ground around him in interest. There were the marks of a fight recently. The markings were unmistakable. These were the footprints of a treant. He curiously followed the footprints, until they faded away into the heavier foliage of the forest. Bobbing aimlessly along, he continued along what he hoped would be the general direction of the footsteps. He paused quickly, noticing the presence of a campfire in a clearing. There were occupants nearby. Three by the looks of it. It was hard to tell who the last two were because a big fat slab of rock that occasionally shifted blocked Reilden’s vision. There was no real way to get around to see the others without ruffling a dangerous amount of leaves. Well not in any ordinary case. But with no feet, and a dark hued body, Reilden could simply drift around into a more favourable position. It was then he saw his other two points of curiousity.

Icefrog the Omniknight, Rifleman00 the Sniper and Warr1-OrcI82) the Stone Giant sat closely huddled around the fire. The sniper busy cleaning his musket, The Stone Giant scratching mould off his back and the Omniknight was checking himself out in his personal mirror.
“Damn, If there’s one good thing about getting dealt this hero it’s that I’m damn hot!” Icefrog whooped.
“Great deal of help that’ll do for you in a battle.” Rifleman00 chuckled.
“Don’t you worry about that” Icefrog smiled. “Hotness always wins over brute force. You’ll see.”
Orc182) just sat there staring at the two, his halfhearted task of removing the mould almost entirely forgotten. His blank gaze eventually drew the attention of his two comrades.
“Something the matter Orc?” Rifleman00 asked.
“Tomorrow we come to where they said they were.” The Stone Giant replied solemnly. “I am getting ready for that time.”
“Deep stuff there” Icefrog grinned. “We’ll be needing you to tank if we come across any trouble. I’ll handle all the support of course. You did buy that platemail didn’t you Orc?”
The Stone Giant nodded, his attention returning once again to the mould.

Reilden had been watching the entire conversation very intently. Now THIS was news. Bad news. The group they were speaking of could only mean…
“It’s all quite interesting…Isn’t it?”
The Bane Elemental whipped around ready to put his silent speaker to sleep. However throbbing waves of agony began to course through his very soul. In the dim silhouettes of the night stood a demon, his eyes high set in the sky and aglow. A ghoul was also attacking him quite ineffectively, missing most of his attacks as his claws went through thin wisps of air. The poison however dripped onto the Bane Elementals body. It was enough. A ghastly howl ripped into the night as the Bane Elemental let out his death cry. Jollyjoker and Firehawk quickly fed into the night, their reason for their attack unknown. Meanwhile, three heros sat around a campfire, suddenly tense and alert…And very afraid. In his haste, Icefrogs mirror dropped and the glass cracked.
“We’re in serious territory now boys…”
